FHE last night involved brownies and ice cream and playing “Life” (the electronic version). I love that game! Remember it from when you were a kid? In case you want to take a stroll down memory lane, I found the commercial that I remember from my youth…
Get Lucky in the Game of Life.
In case you haven’t played it before, the object of the game is to have the highest score based on several factors. These factors include: how much money you have, if you own a home, if you’re married, how many kids you have and how many “life” points you’ve scored throughout the game. We played it with the four oldest after the three littles went to bed. It was hysterical to see the “life” choices they made. The GhanaDuo had little respect for education, spent their money as fast as they earned it and spent most of their time in the “fun” section of the game board (we have some work to do there). They lost. It opened up a whole conversation about what debt is, why we need an education (so that we don’t still have a store clerk job after we have two babies…ShyGuy). It was very eye opening about how different our four eldest think about life choices. That is, if you think the choices you make during a board game are reflective of the real life choices they’ll make later on. If so, we’ll be grand parenting quite a few since ResponsiBoy spent almost his entire “life” in the family section of the board trying to have as many kids as humanly possible. I guess that’s where I’ve spent the majority of my life though, so who knows?
who misses the little blue and pink pegs that came with the version she had as a kid. The electronic version doesn’t have those. Bummer.
