GigantoBaby is No Longer A Baby.

My baby boy will be three tomorrow! Today was his Special Day at preschool (since he only goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays). We went to the grocery store together to pick out the treat for his fellow classmates. We looked at brownies. We looked at cookies. We looked at cupcakes. Do you know what he picked? Organic popcorn, grapes and pineapple. The kid eats so healthy it’s ridiculous! I’m so proud of him. When we got back to the car I pulled out the Beanie Baby teddy bear his dad and I had bought him. It is a bear wearing a birthday hat and a Happy Birthday sign. He gets to “share” something on his Special Day. With his speech delay, it is often hard for him to say a lot. I thought this bear would be pretty self-explanatory. Plus, “teddy bear” is one of his clearer phrases. He looked at the bear, looked at me, looked at the bear and then hugged me, stroked my hair and said “Mom, I I I I I LIKE YOU!” (sometimes he repeats thing multiple times before he gets the sentence out). I like you too, baby. Where did the time go? I blinked and you’re three. Remember this? I do, but you don’t look ANYTHING like this anymore. I remember it like it was yesterday and I hope I always will.
