In the eyes of Ghana, we have a daughter!!!! She’s ours!!!! Kingsley called Shelley early this AM because he didn’t have our phone number. He needed GhanaGirl’s new name or they would have had to leave court and come back a different day. Shelley totally saved the day. Apparently, she and Lois considered naming our GhanaGirl Shelley. We love you, Shelley! You certainly saved the day. But, that just wasn’t going to fly. Shelley gave Kingsley the spelling of the name we chose. Court went well after that. Kingsley should have the copy of our decree early next week. I’m just happy knowing that one step is done. Passport is in process, then we’ll go and file our I-600, then she’s coming home. I was so frustrated this week, and then God sent us a Decree to let me know that I need to keep the faith and BE PATIENT. I want to please ask everyone to send up a prayer for GhanaGirl’s biological father. He is a wonderful man. For everything we gained today, he lost even more. We love him and are so glad to be making him a part of our family too. But, that doesn’t take the pain of what he’s lost away. Prayers would be appreciated.
