The talk of the town in our house is “Halloween”. ResponsiBoy, Middle-Middle and GigantoBaby are just plain excited about it while Giggles, ShyGuy and Bubbly try to figure out what the heck we’re going on about. Bubbly was here for the festivities last year, but she was a tiny bit frightened about the whole thing. I think all the Ghanaians in our house are. Witchcraft was a huge part of their lives before they came here. There was talk of “evil spirits” and “three eyed witches” all the time in Ghana. So, you see, the idea that we’re going to dress up like these spirits, or run around in the dark when they could even possibly be out there is a little frightening to the Duo. Bubbly just wants to know when she’s going to get her candy. CANDY. CANDY. CANDY.
The costume planning has begun. They don’t get a say in what they’ll wear. I know, I’m a horrible mom. But, we always win for best costume because I dress them as a group. If you want to see years past, you can check out this post. I have showed both Giggles and ShyGuy the pics we have of Halloween through the years. They are actually looking forward to it now. Big time. I can’t express how thankful I am that they have something that we are doing, many things actually, as a family that they look forward to. To me, it’s a sign that they are meshing with us. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of family memories for the Duo too. They need them.
who isn’t telling what the kids’ costumes are for this year. You’ll have to wait and see.
