Firsts in the First Weeks.

All photos on this blog are courtesy of a Nikon D3100 camera that has been provided for the FullPlateFamily in exchange for photo credits and user reviews of accessories.  I have always used a Nikon camera, but never properly.  Thanks to some really great upgrades and proper instruction, my pictures are so much more crisp and I can capture my baby’s faces so much better, before they are no longer babies.

I know I’m behind on writing when FPD leans over to me as we’re falling asleep and says, in a very sleepy voice…”FPM needs to update her blog. I haven’t had anything to read lately.”  He enjoys reading what I write about our little life.  I enjoy that he says so.  It’s important to feel appreciated, even for the small things.  Someday, when we’re old and gray we’ll read these entries and remember when.

Right now, life is a whirlwind.  The holidays always are.  We’re back to having two toddlers too.  That puts a whole new spin on things, a fun spin, but sometimes, we’re left a little dizzy.

It has been amazing to watch all Mighty’s ‘firsts.’  There have been many of them in the week that I haven’t updated.  I’ve been cataloging them with my camera and just have to share.

First time actually playing in the tub.  Prior to this, he didn’t want to.  He wasn’t used to baths being fun.  Dolly pooped in the water.  He did NOT enjoy that.  He must have set a land speed record getting OUT, especially with such short legs.  He’s speedy when he needs to be.

First St. Nicholas Day.  Yes, that is Dolly’s tiara.  He digs it and we’re all about being who you are around here.  That day, he was a princess.

Then he found this in his stocking though.  Cookies, a cape, and a super hero mask.  He was a princess no more.
First time putting ornaments on a tree.  I’m pretty sure he thinks we’re nuts putting all these sparkly things on those branches and then telling everyone not to touch them.
First time sitting through the entire bedtime story.  His english is getting better so he can understand more.  That must make it a lot more fun.  I tried to be sneaky with the camera, but Dolly caught me.
As more holiday happenings get underway, there will be more firsts.  In January we’ll make our annual trek to Walt Disney World where Mighty will truly be inducted into the FullPlateFamily…courtesy of a 20 hour car ride.

Bring it.  We can’t wait!
