Large Family Love

Disclaimer: I didn’t take these pictures.  They are from a recent spread that was done in a local magazine about large families and all the love they bring to a child.

I have always been a rather outspoken cheerleader of families that live large.  It’s not for everyone, but it’s for us.  We get a lot of flack though.  A lot.  We have had to fight social workers and adoption agencies each time we’ve wanted to add a child to our family.  How can a family have enough for NINE children?  How can there ever be enough love, enough time, enough money…enough?

We think there’s more than enough of all of it, but we’ll let you decide for yourself…

We are in the process of deciding whether to add baby number 5 to our family and are already hearing the same comments you mention. “Is that fair for your other children?”, etc. I can’t even begin to explain to other people how enriching it’s been adding to our family, but we know in our heart what is right.

On a side note, I was in China with your son “Mighty”. He’s such an amazing kid! Congrats! I had no idea you had a blog until I followed a link from an adoption group. I love it and hope to learn a lot! 🙂

Wow, what great photos. By the looks of the children I would say you are providing ENOUGH!

My husband and I love your heart for these children. God bless you and your husband! Our grandchild has microphthalmia(small eye). We have been so bless by this sweet child. She has had a few surgeries, and her she has a prosthetic in her right eye. Her picture, without her prosthetic, looks similar to your little one that has eye issues. e have an amazing ocularist in Houston if you are ever looking for a specialist. Her prosthetic has been such an amazing fit for her. Thank God those little ones have you as their advocates and that you are teaching them to be their own advocate! I felt compelled to tell you what a great and important job you two are doing for these sweet babies. Sincerely, Jackie Lankford
