It’s crunch time around here. It’s the end of the school year, so there are field trips galore, two camp outs in the next two weeks, a talent show and a plethora of other things going on. And, during all that, I packed our bags for Boston today. It was brutal. I don’t want to do this. I want to run and hide and just pretend she isn’t sick, because on a day-to-day basis, she doesn’t look sick. So, couldn’t this wait longer? Couldn’t we just enjoy life together, unencumbered by these types of visits, for just a little longer?
We can’t. I have to put on my big girl pants. So, I did. I packed my bags, then I drove everyone and their brother to soccer, all while FPD helped at the first camp out. It wasn’t until we got home that the children began to complain that they were hungry. Because, you know, that cereal I fed them for dinner just didn’t cut it.
