Broken heart, Dessert, Make A Wish, Tess

Driving Miss Tessie (Her Wish: Days One and Two).

Dear Tess, we left for your wish a little less than 48 hours ago.  I’m going to try to chronicle everything about this week for you, as a little ‘thank you’ to you for allowing me to be a part of all of this.  It’s a nearly 20 hour drive from where we live to the island just south of Tampa where you’ll be meeting your unicorn.  You greeted this nearly never ending drive with typical Tess enthusiasm.  Everything was just the “BEST EVER!”

Driving Miss TessieWe’ve let you eat junk that we would otherwise not, because, this is your WISH!!! In the last 48 hours, you’ve had waffles, curly fries, a Happy Meal, a grilled cheese and gummy worms.  Today, I bought you a Lunchable.  A food item you often covet, but rarely receive.  You ate those nasty looking processed pizzas with huge enthusiasm.

Driving Miss Tessie-4We broke up the drive by stopping often to play at as many playgrounds as we could.  I don’t think there’s a whole lot you love more than a good playground, and, bonus, it helped your sister, Cate, survive the drive too.  She loved the tire swing.  How many brothers and sisters does it take to push Cate on the tire swing?

Driving Miss Tessie-1A bunch, because she has them all wrapped around her tiny finger.  Even daddy got in on the play.  Driving Miss Tessie-3This little boy is pretty happy about the eats too.  When I told you there would be ice cream daily when we got to the beach, he wanted to make sure he got in on it too.  “It’s not just for the wisher, right?”  No, Bo, you’re pretty brave too.
