Hi Tessa! We started the day with more beautiful treasures for your treasure box!
You once told me that you had discovered something called a chocolate fountain, and that you were delighted by the mere idea of it. So, I searched the area we’re staying for a restaurant that had a chocolate fountain, and today we took you there. You were allowed to dip as many items as you wanted to into the fountain. Then, you chased it with ice cream.
We went to the beach again today and you requested that we all work together to construct sand castles. You called it ‘Family Sand Castle Time!’ So, that’s exactly what we did.
Turns out, Cate is more of a destructor than a constructor. I had to distract her by building her a castle of her very own that she could sit on as many times as she wanted. She was very pleased with that.
Meanwhile, your dad and brothers helped you with the real deal. Once all that was done, you were SO tired. Close to tears tired. We let you choose the movie for a ‘Family Movie Night.’ We ticked another item off your wish list as we all spent more time together.
I gave pedicures to every girl that asked, because you informed me that polished toes are a “must for the beach.”
We also made cookies tonight, all together, because this is “what families do.” It’s true. I don’t know that there was ever a kid whose wishes involved more things with her family. You’re a smart girl, Tess. You can feel these bigs that you love so very much getting older by the second. I’m sure you feel their wings stretching the same way I do. It won’t be long before they’re flying solo. For now though, sweet Tess, we’re savoring every second.
–FullPlateMom, who can’t wait to see the aquarium with you tomorrow!
