Tess turned five today. Brady pointed out to her that this is her golden birthday. She is five on the fifth of February, on the same day as National Wear Red Day, where we asked all her peeps to wear red to raise awareness about heart disease. It’s her golden birthday, she’s wearing red, and soon we’ll celebrate Chinese New Year, which is celebrated with the colors red and gold. Brady said it was like it was all meant to be.
This made her so happy.
She had no big plans for her birthday. She merely wanted to do all the things she couldn’t do when her heart was “still broken.” So, today she got her ears pierced.
As we left the mall she asked me if she could play in the play area. She has asked this before, but I have always had to say no. There are so many germs. This time, I said yes.
We’ll wash our hands later.
Then there were the beautiful regular moments.
